The Chennai International Youth Fest’s Second Edition in Sept 2018!Jun 28, 2018
It is often said that children are the future of a country. As true as that statement is, the present of the country always belongs to the youth. In India, whether it is the start-up scene, the art scene or the academics, the youth stand at the forefront of a revolution. The time is right in India for talented youth to take their dreams forward and fast-track the growth of the country in all aspects.
While the youth are highly motivated on their own, there is nothing like recognition from various reputed organisations to fuel their motivation further. To this end, the Youth Development Consortium that is supported by the government of India conducts the Chennai International Youth Fest every year.
The exciting event puts the youth of the country in the spotlight and celebrates their talents and interests. It is a very credible platform for the youth to come forward and participate. The event was a grand success in 2017 when its first edition was conducted. With the second edition scheduled to be conducted in September this year, there is a lot of expectation for this year’s event to turn out as a greater success.

What is it?
The Chennai International Youth Fest 2018 (CIYF’18) is the second edition of this exciting event. It is touted to be the biggest youth conclave in India. The event is scheduled to go on for 15 days and the various events that are part of the whole conclave are elaborately planned.
From 1st September to 15th September 2018, cultural events, sports, exhibitions, spiritual discourses, artist camps, martial arts, seminars and other programmes are scheduled at various parts of Tamil Nadu to inculcate the various aspects of the broad spectrum of interests that today’s youngsters have. The extravaganza will include many competitive as well as non-competitive events. With a total of more than 250 events, the gala is expected to record a footfall of over 5 lakh youngsters.
The fest began as an effort towards encouraging, recognising and celebrating the highly talented youth of our country. It is a great platform for the youngsters to showcase their talents. It is a culmination of major efforts from the Youth Development programme under the government of India and supported by the government of Tamil Nadu.
Apart from the exposure that it gives to talented people, it also encourages them to strive for a better future and inspires them to aim higher. It promotes the spirit of unity, national harmony and celebrates our rich cultural identity.
Both the audience as well as the participants are guaranteed to have a great time while being a part of an empowering event.
The grand finale of the fest is scheduled to take place in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai on the 16th of September, 2018.
The First Edition
The first edition of the CIYF took place in August 2017. The events were held in 70 plus locations in Tamil Nadu and it turned out to be a huge success. Studded with various celebrities and dignitaries, the events were nothing short of a spectacle. From the event sponsors to the chief guests, all aspects of the fest were exciting and special.
